I was determined to get in my studio and make new ornaments this year. I’ve started playing around and think I need a way bigger tree now. 😂 Art is very therapeutic for me when I’m left to discover, have my music surrounding me, and in a place mentally where I can tune the world out. In a moment, if I’m pulled back into reality, it is very hard for me to get back. The past 4 years have made that even more so. Caregiving, grief, keeping boundaries. But I’m learning. The power in extending grace to yourself in whatever way you need it and with no judgement. Here at the treehouse, just taking the time to soak in fall by simply sitting with it, taking a little longer by the window or on the veranda. Little things. Don’t miss the little things. Noelle🖤

The shelves are dusty, the branches aren’t fluffed but the beauty is there. Darkness fell so I turned on the lights I forgot were there. It caught me off guard as the moodiness was home. I’m home. Back in my office, and my studio is not far behind. Thankful 🖤 Was not planning on turning this into a reel. But it was so quick and it’s been so long. 🙈

I’ve brought my easel out of my studio and into

I’ve brought my easel out of my studio and into my bedroom. During the past 9 months I have constantly been moving my place around as my daughter moved back in with me to ride out the pandemic and I’m always optimizing the space for us both. What a ride it is, we both stay flexible + flowing. Today is the first time I’ve taken to the canvas in any way since it started. I could tell you all the ways I’ve spent my time since March but then I also would say, so much of it I have no idea. Where did it all go? It’s very surreal. Here we are, at last to December. Christmas has filled every room here at The Nashpad. I’m here in this moment and I am so grateful. In the video I have mixed up some acrylic buff paint, white gesso and a couple spoons of plaster of Paris. Stirred all up and put to canvas. It is wet in the dark places. After it dries I will seal with clear gesso to start layers. This texture will stay and I can sand where I want. Abstract and organic piece of acrylics, oils and wax. Of course other mediums could find their way in. I do know my color palette and will mix it up next. This isn’t some master video. Just wanted to say hello and start sharing again. 🍂

My heart in this course is to lay the groundwork for loving what you create. We use alcohol inks as a base while adding layers of mixed media and finishing in resin.

Art Under Resin | Alcohol Ink in Abstract is forgetting about your alcohol ink edges and easily create pieces you love. Using the right supplies, you have a foundation to build and create the work you have been desiring. We will start small and create a series that finishes in resin. We will then take it big and bold using other techniques with endless possibilities.

Watch how alcohol ink can be your bottom layer creating beautiful surreal windows of color in your piece. Adding layers of acrylic paint + inks, pastels, watercolor, inktense, conte, and gold, silver or copper leaf (oh my) and any medium you choose!

We will seal, cut + mount our pieces to wood cradled board. Skipping no steps! Discover a process that works and leads to success in your continued outcomes.

Moving into resin you will learn how to prepare yourself, your space and your piece for ridiculously beautiful results. I wish I could be standing next to each one of you as you watch the magic of resin on your art work. The ethereal depth that finishing your piece in resin is worth every second. *You could take this course and use any medium for your art pieces and follow the same process for adding resin as your final layer… or layers.
